Tokai University is organizing a symposium to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Danish-Japanese relations and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the University. Panelists have been invited from Denmark and Japan for lectures and discussions.
After severe economic and social instability during World War I, Denmark promoted its egalitarian education system and recovered to become the affluent nation it is today. The philosophy of the Danish folk high school system (folkehøjskole) was the headstream of the foundation of Tokai University. The symposium will offer an excellent opportunity to discuss our common philosophy of developing our countries through education, focusing on the human resources we have produced and will need to produce in the future. We will learn from the views of specialists in fields such as the humanities, energy and the environment, and civic education, and invite all attendees to discuss future human resource development.
The symposium is a part of the University’s Center of Community (COC) project. The participation of community residents and municipalities is welcome.
