“DESIGN COLLABORATIONS / Japan – Denmark 150 years” is curated by Danish architect and designer Lars Vejen, who also came up with the idea for the exhibition. He has developed a strong personal relation to Japan since he in 1995 was a student in Kyoto and today runs his design studio from both Denmark and Japan. An exhibition with designs created for and manufactured by Japanese and Danish craftsmen together with the designs of Lars Vejen will be realised – in Kyoto, in Copenhagen and as online exhibition – to celebrate the historic relation and to inspire to new ways of collaborating across cultures and disciplines. Developing new products with craftsmen and together bring old times knowledge and techniques into new products and use.
Welcome to the exhibition at Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts in Kyoto from 3/11 – 3/12 2017 and at Gallery A. Petersen Collection & Crafts in Copenhagen from 7/12 2017 – 11/2 2018.
